Italy
Cinque Terre & Gulf of Poets
11 – 15 October 2026Sold out
The most photographed coast in Italy — approached with the time and the local knowledge to find the angles that aren’t. Five days between the Gulf of Poets and the Cinque Terre, with all meals cooked for us in front of the sea.
Places we may go
Villages stacked above the water, headlands and rocks that catch the last light. The exact spot each evening depends on the sea state and the sky, and we decide it together.

This list is not exhaustive and it can change. A swell that arrives early, a road shut by the weather, or a sky clearly worth chasing somewhere else are all good reasons to spend a morning in a place that is not on this page.
This date is full, but the requests are what shape the calendar: tell me if it interests you.
Join the waiting listThere is no day-by-day itinerary. There is a rhythm.
We don’t publish a fixed day-by-day programme, because the weather decides where we should be. What stays the same every day is the shape below; what changes is where we point the cameras, and we choose that together the evening before.
Dry
High pressure and an empty sky. We lean on the villages and the rock, work the water with long exposures, and shoot the two ends of the day properly.
| 07:35 | Sunrise | First warm light running along the coast |
| 09:30 | Breakfast | We go through the morning’s files together |
| 11:00 | Theory | The topics of the week, at the table |
| 13:00 | On the road | A village on foot, a terrace, the views of the sea |
| 16:00 | Post-production, forecast or planning | We choose tonight’s spot together |
| 18:45 | Sunset, then dinner | Low rocks, glassy water, the sun behind the far shore |
Wet
Showers passing through. The sky has shape and it changes every ten minutes, so we stay mobile and accept getting wet — this is the light people come back for.
| 07:35 | Sunrise under cloud | Clouds can be moody |
| 09:30 | Breakfast, dry the gear | Dry the gear, look at the files |
| 11:00 | Theory | Exposure, timing, and knowing when to wait |
| 13:00 | Lunch | In Italy, good food takes time |
| 15:00 | Post-production, forecast or planning | What the radar does decides the evening |
| 18:45 | Sunset where it opens, then dinner | Ten good minutes are worth the whole day |
Stormy
Sea running and rain on the wind. We hope for a little break to get that stormy mood we’re looking for, and the rest of the day goes to the files and the theory.
| 08:00 | A later start, breakfast | Sensor cleaning and a first look at the frames |
| 10:00 | Theory, long session | Long exposure and protecting the camera |
| 12:30 | Post-production, forecast or planning | The best afternoon of the week for desk work |
| 13:30 | Lunch | Take your time, a glass of wine to the storm |
| 18:45 | Out if the storm eases | A break after a storm or deep cloudy sky, we’ll be there |
What we work on
- Scouting and planning: reading maps, tides and forecasts
- Weather: reading the cloud, and making the most of what the day gives
- Composition, and the discipline of seeing the frame before shooting
- Exposure with the histogram, in light that changes fast
- Filters: graduated, polariser, ND
- Advanced long exposure
- Post-production, on your own files, during the week
- Image review, one by one
